Internship Opportunities

Lisadell Equine Hospital invites applications for our 2022 internship positions. We are seeking motivated, hard working and inquisitive individuals to join our dedicated team. We are a first opinion and referral equine hospital situated 30 minutes north of Dublin. Our ambulatory practice attends a wide variety of clientele from professional show jumper and eventing yards, to single pleasure horse owners, to our largest clients in the thoroughbred breeding and racing populations. The ambulatory practice feeds into our equine hospital which offers state of the art care for our clients and our referral population. We offer a wide array of diagnostics and perform a diverse selection of surgical procedures, most commonly upper respiratory, arthroscopy, fracture fixation and various other elective and emergency procedures. We also offer intensive care facilities for recumbent foals and critically ill adults. Interns also assist in reproductive services through our busy AI programme at the hospital.

The ideal candidate will have a degree in veterinary medicine recognised by the Irish Veterinary Council and the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons, be fluent in English, possess a full driving licence and be eager to enrol in a structured internship programme. Applicants must be willing to participate in journal clubs and to prepare presentations for in house CPD and owner information evenings. For the correct candidate there is scope to extend the internship outside of the hospital and participate in on the road calls usually towards the end of the programme.

Please feel free to get in touch for more information about the positions. Applications to be sent to lisadellequinhospital@gmail.com. Further information is available at our website www.lisadellequinehospital.com

If you are interested in a future internship we strongly recommend visiting for an Externship as commonly interns are recruited directly from their student placements.
