Our well-equipped hospital was purpose-built in 2004 and boasts a range of facilities:

    • Bloods: Haematology and Biochemistry
    • Culture and sensitivity inc. mare swabs
    • Blood gas analysis
    • Faecal Egg Counts
  • Two stocks for examining mares
  • Trot up area
  • Lunging facilities on hard and soft surfaces
  • Separate padded knock-down and recovery boxes for anaesthesia
  • Full Surgical suite for operations under General Anaesthesia
  • Barn with 12 loose boxes including mare and foal stabling
  • Three separate "standing-stalls" for day patients
  • All stables with full "Easyfix" rubber flooring
  • Two separate isolation stables for high-risk cases
  • 12 individual turnout paddocks for mares and foals and patients requiring restricted grazing.

Equilume at Lisadell

We have recently had state-of-the-art Equilume "Luminaire" stable lights installed in two of our intensive care stables. The innovative design of this light mimics natural daylight and synchronises the horses circadian rhythm. It boasts many benefits to health including improved growth, immune response and appetite as well as reducing microbial concentrations in stables. We are excited to see the positive benefits of these lights on our critically-ill patients.
